Xerox Solid Ink Reduces Printing Waste

Xerox’s solid ink color printing technology is easy to use, produces brilliant color prints, is cost-effective, and has a low impact on the environment by producing 90 percent less waste than laser printing. Solid ink printers have only one consumable item, compared to numerous consumables in color laser printers. The result is dramatic: after 100,000 prints, a color laser can produce 157 pounds of waste, while a solid ink printer produces only 5 pounds.

Additionally, the non-toxic ink produces high-quality prints on any kind of recycled paper. There are fewer CO2 emissions and less fuel is used from shipping because solid ink packages are smaller and lighter than toner cartridges. Also, less energy is used to manufacture solid ink due to the simplicity of the design. All product packaging is recyclable.
